Community Guidelines · Last updated June 18, 2026
Our principles
Myne's standard is the law — not feelings. We don't remove lawful speech because someone finds it offensive, rude, or distasteful: offense taken is not offense given. What we remove is what is illegal or a direct threat to someone's safety. Inside that line, you are free to speak — Myne is not the arbiter of opinion. By creating an account or uploading content, you agree to these Guidelines.
What's not allowed
Every item below is illegal, constitutes speech that is not legally protected (e.g. true threats and incitement to imminent violence), or is a direct safety threat. You may not post, share, send, or facilitate:
- Child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE). Absolutely prohibited and handled under our separate Child Safety Standards. Zero tolerance, no exceptions.
- Sexual content involving minors of any kind, real or simulated, including sexualized depictions, solicitation, grooming, or sextortion.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn") — sexual images shared without the subject's consent.
- True threats of violence against a person or group.
- Incitement to imminent violence or other lawless action.
- Terrorism or violent-extremist content, or material support for it.
- Unlawful harassment or stalking — a sustained, targeted course of conduct against a specific person that is unlawful (not mere insults or criticism).
- Doxxing — publishing someone's private or identifying information to enable harm.
- Solicitation or sale of illegal goods or services (e.g. drugs, weapons, stolen data).
- Fraud, scams, phishing, malware, and impersonation.
- Defamation — knowingly false statements of fact that injure a person.
- Intellectual-property infringement — posting others' copyrighted or trademarked work unlawfully.
Not prohibited: lawful speech you find offensive, blasphemous, politically incorrect, harsh, or wrong. Disagree, mute, block, or scroll — but it is not Myne's business to police it.
Sensitive content
Some legal content (e.g. graphic or sexually suggestive material) is restricted. Where allowed, it is blurred behind a tap-to-view confirmation; explicit adult content may require age/identity verification to view. Posting prohibited content, or mislabeling sensitive content to evade these controls, violates these Guidelines.
How we moderate
- Media is scanned before it enters the platform. All images and videos are checked for CSAM and other prohibited content at the point of upload; matches are blocked and, where required by law, reported.
- You can report and block. Every post has a ⋮ menu → Report Post / Report User, and you can Block any user. Manage blocks anytime in Settings → Blocked Users.
- We act on reports. Our Trust & Safety team reviews reports and takes action — removing content, restricting or banning accounts — consistent with these Guidelines and the law.
- Appeals. If you believe a decision was a mistake, you can request a review. (Confirmed child-sexual-abuse-material matches are not subject to appeal and are reported to authorities.)
Consequences
Depending on severity and history, violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, temporary suspension, or permanent account and device bans. Severe violations — especially CSAE — result in immediate removal, an account and device ban, and reporting to law enforcement.

Child Safety Standards · Last updated June 18, 2026
Our position on child safety
Myne believes in data sovereignty. Myne believes in privacy. Myne believes your data is yours.
None of that applies to child sexual abuse material. Full stop.
CSAM is not speech. It is not expression. It is not a privacy right. It is evidence of a crime against a child.
Myne scans for it. Myne blocks it. Myne reports it. Every time. Without exception.
Prohibited conduct (zero tolerance)
Myne strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form, including but not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any depiction of a minor in sexual conduct.
- Sexualization of minors, including AI-generated or computer-generated depictions.
- Grooming, enticement, or solicitation of a minor.
- Sextortion of a minor.
- Solicitation, generation, or sharing of self-generated CSAM.
- Trafficking or any facilitation of the sexual exploitation of a child.
There are no exceptions, and no privacy or sovereignty claim overrides this prohibition.
What Myne does
- Detects. All images and videos are scanned at upload using perceptual-hash matching against verified child-safety hash databases (Meta PDQ / TMK+PDQF against the NCMEC hash list) and a machine-learning classifier for previously-uncatalogued material.
- Blocks. Detected CSAM is blocked before it is stored, posted, or transmitted. There is no safe channel for this material on Myne.
- Reports. When Myne becomes aware of apparent CSAM, it is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, as required by U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), with associated account, device, and location information, and preserved as the law requires.
- Bans. Offending accounts are permanently banned, and the device is blocked from registering a new account.
- Protects reviewers and victims. Confirmed-CSAM content is never displayed in any Myne tool or to any Myne employee; it is sealed and handled only by NCMEC and law enforcement.
How to report child-safety concerns
- In the app: open the ⋮ menu on any post → Report → choose "Child safety." These reports are flagged for priority handling.
- Directly: email our child-safety point of contact at [CHILD SAFETY POC EMAIL].
Age requirement
Myne is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). Accounts found to belong to under-age users will be removed.
Legal compliance
Myne complies with applicable child-safety laws, including its mandatory-reporting obligations under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and cooperates fully with NCMEC and law enforcement.
Terms of Service (End User License Agreement) · Last updated June 18, 2026
1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("Myne," "we," "us"), governing your use of the Myne application and related services (the "Service"). By creating an identity, or by accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Community Guidelines, our Child Safety Standards, and our Privacy Policy, each incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use Myne. Myne is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit them to register; accounts found to belong to under-age users will be removed. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and are not barred from doing so under applicable law.
3. The Service — how Myne works
Myne is a decentralized, privacy-first social platform. Key characteristics you acknowledge and accept:
- Peer-to-peer architecture. Much of your content is stored on your own device and replicated directly between users over a peer-to-peer network. Myne does not hold a central copy of all content.
- Biometric identity — no passwords, no recovery phrase. Your account is secured by a cryptographic key protected by your device biometric. There is no password reset and no seed-phrase backup. If you lose access to your biometric and username, your account may be unrecoverable, and Myne cannot restore it for you. You are solely responsible for maintaining access.
- Data sovereignty. Your data is yours. Myne is designed to minimize what we hold about you. See the Privacy Policy for specifics.
4. Your content and the license you grant
You retain ownership of the content you create ("Your Content"). To operate the Service, you grant Myne and other users a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, transmit, replicate, cache, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service (including peer-to-peer replication and, for public content, distribution to other users and discovery features). This license ends when Your Content is removed, except where retention is required by law (see Section 6) or where it has already been replicated to other users' devices beyond our control.
You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights to share it and that it does not violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or any law.
5. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is governed by our Community Guidelines. In short: Myne's standard is the law and user safety, not opinion. You may not post, send, or facilitate content that is illegal, that constitutes legally-unprotected speech (such as true threats or incitement to imminent violence), or that is a direct threat to safety — including, without limitation, child sexual abuse or exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, terrorism or violent-extremist content, unlawful harassment or stalking, doxxing, fraud or malware, defamation, or intellectual-property infringement. You also may not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or compromise the Service or other users.
6. Content moderation, child-safety scanning, and lawful reporting
You acknowledge and consent to the following as a condition of using the Service:
- All images and videos are scanned for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) before they enter the platform — including in private messages — using established child-safety detection technology. This scanning occurs on our servers before content is transmitted or stored.
- If apparent CSAM is detected, it is blocked and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline as required by U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), together with associated account information, device information, and the device's GPS location at the time of the attempt. We are required to preserve related materials for at least 90 days, and this preservation obligation overrides any deletion or account-removal request. Device and location data for clean (non-matching) media is not stored.
- We may remove content, and suspend or permanently ban accounts and devices, that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines. A banned device may be prevented from registering a new account.
- We provide in-app tools to report content and users and to block users. We review reports and act as warranted. You may appeal an enforcement decision; confirmed CSAM determinations are not subject to appeal and are reported to authorities.
7. Privacy, location, and device information
Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy. In summary: Myne minimizes data collection; Sovereign Location ("Around Me") is opt-in and never shares your precise coordinates; and a device signal is collected at registration to enforce bans and at media-scan time (discarded if no CSAM match). By using the Service you consent to these practices.
8. Intellectual property
Myne's name, logos, and software are owned by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] and protected by law; these Terms grant you no rights in them beyond using the Service. We respect intellectual-property rights and respond to valid infringement notices; repeat infringers may be terminated. To report infringement, contact support@mynesocial.com.
9. Third-party content
The Service may surface third-party content (e.g. news, links, media from other services). Myne does not endorse and is not responsible for third-party content or websites; your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that content will be preserved, or that lost accounts can be recovered.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MYNE AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, CONTENT, ACCOUNT ACCESS, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRECEDING 12 MONTHS OR USD $100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or the law, or to comply with legal obligations. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, licenses already granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and legal-preservation obligations) survive.
14. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by [ARBITRATION ADMINISTRATOR], and you and Myne waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action, except where prohibited by law.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or at the published URL; your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Privacy Policy · Last updated June 18, 2026
1. Who we are & scope
This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("Myne," "we," "us") handles information when you use the Myne application and related services (the "Service"). It does not cover third-party services you reach through Myne.
2. Our privacy philosophy
Myne is built on data sovereignty: your data is yours. Myne is decentralized and peer-to-peer — much of your content lives on your own device and is replicated directly between users, not held in a central Myne database. Your identity is a cryptographic key protected by your device biometric; that key never leaves your device, and we never see your biometric. We collect as little as possible to operate the Service. The one absolute exception is child sexual abuse material (see Section 5).
3. Information we collect
Account & identity. Your chosen username, display name, optional bio, optional avatar/banner image, and your public cryptographic key and feed key. We do not store passwords or recovery phrases — there are none. Your private key stays on your device.
Content you share. Posts, messages, media, and interactions. Public posts are indexed by our directory so they can be discovered and delivered; private and peer-to-peer content is replicated between devices and is not centrally stored by us beyond what is needed to route it.
Social graph. Connections, group memberships, and subscriptions, to operate those features.
Device information.
- At registration: a device signal (a hashed device identifier and basic device model info) is checked against our device-ban list to prevent banned devices from re-registering. For clean registrations this is checked and discarded; only banned devices are retained.
- At media-scan time: with each image/video you upload, device and location information is collected for the scan only and is immediately discarded if no child-safety match is found (see Section 5).
Approximate location (optional). Only if you enable "Around Me" (Sovereign Location). It is coordinate-free — see Section 6. Your precise GPS coordinates are never shared with us or other users through this feature.
Reports & blocks. When you report content or a user, we store the report (your key, the target, the reason). When you block a user, your block list is stored to enforce it across your devices.
Network information. Your IP address may be observed when your app contacts our servers; for identity operations we store only a truncated hash of it. On a confirmed child-safety match, the IP is included in the legally-required report (Section 5).
Limited diagnostics. Basic, non-identifying logs needed to keep the Service running (e.g. scan result = approved/blocked, timestamp — never the media itself).
4. How we use information
To create and secure your identity; to deliver, index, and display your content; to operate social, discovery, and group features; to keep the Service safe (moderation, anti-abuse, ban enforcement); to comply with law; and to communicate with you about the Service. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Child-safety scanning & mandatory reporting
This is the single area where privacy does not apply, and you consent to it by using Myne:
- All images and videos are scanned for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) before they enter the platform, including in private messages, using established child-safety detection technology on our servers.
- For clean media, the device and location data collected for the scan is discarded immediately and never stored.
- If apparent CSAM is detected, we are required by U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A) to block it and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, including your account information, device information, and the device's GPS location at the time of the attempt. We preserve related materials for at least 90 days. This legal preservation obligation overrides any deletion or account-removal request. Preserved material is encrypted and is never viewed by Myne personnel — it is provided only to NCMEC and law enforcement.
6. Sovereign Location ("Around Me")
"Around Me" is opt-in and off by default. When enabled, your device derives an irreversible code for your approximate area (a one-way hash of a coarse map cell) and shares only that code plus a public profile snapshot with nearby members. Your exact coordinates never leave your device through this feature (the only exception is the child-safety scan in Section 5, which you are separately notified about). You can turn it off, and adjust its precision, in Settings at any time.
7. Information that never leaves your device
By design, some processing is fully on-device and is never transmitted to us:
- Your interest model (the topics you most engage with), used for the "For You" lens.
- Bloom filters used for privacy-preserving discovery.
- Your private key and biometric.
8. Third parties & sub-processors
We use a small number of providers strictly to operate the Service. Depending on configuration at launch, these may include:
- Hosting: [HOSTING REGION/PROVIDER] — runs our directory/coordination servers.
- Anthropic (Claude): generates discovery tags/classification. For public posts only — public text and approved public images may be sent to generate tags. Private/DM content is not sent for tagging.
- CSAM detection provider (e.g. self-hosted PDQ + the NCMEC hash list, and/or Google Content Safety API or another child-safety service): used solely to detect CSAM. Providers that receive media for this purpose delete it after processing.
- NCMEC: receives legally-required CyberTipline reports of apparent CSAM.
- Google Play Integrity: verifies that a registering device is genuine (anti-abuse).
We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
9. When we disclose information
- To other users: content and profile information you choose to share.
- For legal reasons: to comply with law, valid legal process, or our § 2258A reporting obligations, and to NCMEC/law enforcement for child-safety matters.
- To protect rights and safety: to enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines and to prevent harm.
- We do not sell personal information.
10. Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed to operate the Service or as required by law. Clean-scan device/location data is discarded immediately. Block lists and reports are kept while relevant to safety. Legal preservation holds (e.g. the 90-day CSAM-related hold) override deletion, including account-deletion requests, for the required period.
11. Your choices & rights
- Access / update: edit your profile in Settings; manage blocks in Settings → Blocked Users.
- Location: turn "Around Me" on/off and set its precision anytime.
- Deletion: you may delete content and request account deletion. Important limits: (a) content already replicated to other users' devices over the peer-to-peer network cannot be recalled by us; (b) data under a legal preservation hold cannot be deleted until the hold expires; (c) because there is no password or recovery phrase, if you lose access to your biometric and username your account may be unrecoverable.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA) to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.
12. Security
Your identity key is protected by your device's biometric and secure hardware. We hash IP addresses for identity operations, encrypt preserved child-safety evidence at rest, and limit access to internal data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security or recovery of lost accounts.
13. Children
Myne is for users 13 and older (or older where required). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we delete it and remove the account. (See our Child Safety Standards for our broader child-protection commitments.)
14. International users
Myne is operated from the United States and your information is processed there. By using the Service you understand your information may be processed in the U.S.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy; material changes will be communicated in-app or at the published URL. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
